About the Opportunity

Commercial Bank of Ceylon, which describes itself as “the most respected bank”, is hiring a Manager – IT Infrastructure. This is a senior leadership post. The manager owns the bank’s data centre infrastructure: its modernisation roadmap, its regulatory compliance, and its resilience against outages. The person hired will also oversee 24/7/365 operation of all data centre facilities.

Job Description

• Modernisation roadmap: develop and execute a strategic plan for the data centre. The plan should bring in Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), containerised server environments, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), cloud integration and advanced automation, while protecting stability and uptime.
• Operations: oversee round-the-clock operation of all data centre facilities.
• Compliance: keep the infrastructure compliant with internal banking policies, external financial regulations, industry standards and certifications such as PCI DSS and ISO 27001.
• High availability: design, maintain and regularly test the high-availability architecture across all core data centre components.
• Disaster recovery: lead mandatory DR drills and failover tests so the bank meets its Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

Who They Are Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science recognised by the University Grants Commission.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management.
• At least 5 of those years in a leadership role managing a large, mission-critical data centre, preferably in banking or financial services.
• VMware or Nutanix certification is an advantage.
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or Red Hat OpenShift certification is an advantage.
