Job Overview
Kingsmere is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Intern Assistant Teacher to support its teaching team in delivering Elocution, Phonics, and Public Speaking programmes to young learners. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and wish to gain hands-on classroom experience in a specialised educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in delivering Elocution, Phonics, and Public Speaking lessons to children of various age groups.
- Support students individually or in small groups to develop their spoken English skills and confidence.
- Help prepare lesson materials, activity resources, and classroom setups prior to sessions.
- Monitor and encourage student participation and engagement during classes.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment at all times.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of performances, competitions, or special events as required.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their pronunciation, diction, and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Fluent in English — both spoken and written — to a high standard.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with young learners.
- Patient, caring, and genuinely passionate about working with children.
- Proactive, energetic personality with a willingness to take initiative.
- Residing near Malabe, Kaduwela, or Biyagama is preferred.
Working Schedule
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 12.30 PM – 5.30 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 8.00 AM – 5.00 PM
- Days off: Monday and Friday
