Job Overview

CLIO (FLi Hotels & Resorts) is inviting applications for a dynamic and detail-oriented Cost Controller to join their corporate finance team based in Kadawatha. In this role, you will drive cost and financial control initiatives across the company’s distinctive portfolio of scenic hospitality destinations in Sri Lanka. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality finance professional to grow within a fast-expanding hotel group while contributing to meaningful financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly, weekly, and spot-check inventories across all hotel and resort locations to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Analyse Food & Beverage (F&B), operational, and procurement costs and prepare comprehensive daily and monthly financial reports.
  • Collaborate closely with chefs and kitchen teams to establish accurate, up-to-date food and beverage recipe costings.
  • Review purchase orders, receiving reports, and supplier invoices to verify accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Implement and enforce internal controls over purchasing, storage, issuing, and waste management processes.
  • Support the corporate finance team by providing accurate and timely cost data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Monitor variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of period-end financial reports and cost analyses for senior management review.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Hospitality Management is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of cost control experience, with relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems used in hospitality operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, reporting, and analysis.
  • A solid understanding of hotel operations will be a definite advantage.
  • Strong understanding of F&B operations, procurement processes, and inventory control methodologies.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
