About the State Timber Corporation (STC)
The State Timber Corporation (rdcH oej ixia:dj) is a Sri Lanka government corporation operating under the Ministry of Environment and Wildlife Resources. Established to manage the commercial utilisation of timber resources in Sri Lanka, STC operates sawmills, timber processing facilities, and wood product manufacturing plants across the island. The corporation handles timber harvesting, processing, distribution, and export while complying with sustainable forestry practices and environmental regulations. STC maintains a large island-wide workforce across its operational facilities.

General Requirements
- Works Officer: Relevant technical qualification; experience in timber processing or manufacturing operations preferred
- Crane Operator: Valid crane operator licence; relevant certification; experience in heavy equipment operation
- Boiler & Kiln Operator: Boiler operator certificate from an authorised institution; experience in kiln/boiler operations
- Machine Operator: Technical qualification or experience in operating industrial machinery
- Welder: Recognised welding certificate (arc welding, MIG/MAG, or equivalent); practical welding experience
- Chain/Cable Operator: Experience in cable or chain-based equipment operation in a timber/industrial environment
- O/L or A/L qualification as base educational requirement
- Willingness to work at STC facilities island-wide
