About the Role
The Translator will be responsible for translating official bank documents, circulars, and communications from English into Sinhala and Tamil. This is a critical role ensuring DFCC Bank meets its commitment to issuing accurate and consistent trilingual communications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate official circulars, manuals, and communications from English into Sinhala and Tamil
- Ensure all translations maintain accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance
- Review and proofread translated documents to eliminate errors before distribution
- Coordinate with relevant internal departments to understand context, terminology, and specific translation requirements
- Support the bank’s objective of issuing trilingual communications in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to DFCC Bank’s professional standards at all times
- Manage multiple translation projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in translating documents between English, Sinhala, and Tamil
- Excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, and style across all three languages
- Prior experience working in a corporate or financial institution environment
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and editing skills to ensure accuracy
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Languages, Translation, or a related field
