About the Role
The Manager – Data Scientist is responsible for overseeing the collection, storage, and interpretation of data for audit purposes. The role involves producing data-driven analysis to help management make informed decisions, creating organised categories from raw data, comparing data against current bank processes and regulatory figures, and writing detailed reports outlining business predictions and proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the collection, storage, and interpretation of data for audit management purposes
- Produce data analysis to help management make key decisions
- Sift through data points to create organised categories and compare against current bank processes and figures
- Write reports outlining business predictions and proposals for management action
- Collect data by analysing business results and by setting up and managing new studies
- Transfer data into appropriate formats suitable for analysis
- Create new experimental frameworks for data collection
- Use tools to automate data collection processes
- Search through large datasets to find usable and relevant information
- Create reports and presentations for audit purposes
- Convert similar datasets to produce actionable results
- Issue management reports based on analysed data for decision-making and necessary action
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
Academic / Professional Qualifications
The candidate should possess one of the following:
- Master’s degree in Information Security
- Master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology specialising in Information Security
- (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP)
- ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
A qualification related to Data Science (e.g. Degree in Data Science) is an added advantage.
Experience Required
Minimum 05 years of experience in:
- Data Science
- Use of computer-aided audit techniques
- Information System Auditing
- Experience in the banking industry is especially required
Competencies & Skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of internal bank circulars, regulations, and laws applicable to the banking/finance industry and information systems
- Computer literacy and knowledge of computerised audit techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Knowledge of IT security and infrastructure
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills
Remuneration
An attractive and negotiable remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered to the selected candidate. The appointment will be made on a contract basis and performance will be evaluated annually.
