Job Overview
The Relationship Manager position in the Business Banking Unit is accountable for establishing and operationalising the business banking segment of the bank. The role involves formulating, directing, and monitoring strategies to ensure the achievement of business goals, including targets related to assets, liabilities, and fee-based income within the Business Banking portfolio. The successful candidate will bring at least 8 years of banking experience and strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and operationalise the business banking segment and drive portfolio growth
- Formulate and implement strategies to achieve asset, liability, and fee-based income targets
- Manage relationships with business banking clients and develop new business opportunities
- Monitor business banking portfolio performance and provide regular reports to senior management
- Apply expertise in Credit, Marketing, Cash Management, Liability Management, and Value Chain Financing within SME segments
- Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities across the bank’s product range
- Maintain a deep understanding of financial statements and industry dynamics to provide sound advice to clients
Candidate Profile
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised university or professional body
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Banking/Finance sector
- Proven exposure in Credit, Marketing, Cash Management, Liability Management, and Value Chain Financing within Business Banking/SME segments
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and marketing skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and reporting abilities with a track record of delivering results
- Solid understanding of financial statements, diverse industry sectors, and the broader commercial and economic environment
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to convey insights clearly and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within teams and contribute to achieving shared goals
