The Opportunity: Recovery Officer

Wontec Lanka is seeking a proactive and results-driven Recovery Officer to manage and recover outstanding payments while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely collections and supporting the financial health of the company, requiring strong negotiation skills balanced with a customer-first approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and follow up on overdue payments and outstanding accounts
• Contact customers via phone, email, and letters to recover overdue payments
• Negotiate repayment plans and settlements with customers
• Monitor customer accounts and track payment commitments
• Resolve customer disputes and escalations professionally
• Maintain accurate records of collections and communication
• Prepare regular reports on recovery activities and outstanding account status
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of accounts

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in debt recovery, collections, or a similar role
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery targets
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• A valid driver’s license is an added advantage
