Role Overview

HBL Bank Sri Lanka is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join their Centralized Operations Processing Centre and General Administration Department (GAD) at the level of Officer or Assistant Manager. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and processing of account opening and account maintenance activities in line with regulatory and AML/CFT requirements
  • Coordinate with branches on operational matters and timely resolution of operational issues and queries
  • Custody and management of negotiable stocks, vendor coordination and screening, and stock reconciliation
  • Timely response to Compliance queries and handling of regulatory orders — including preparation and submission of required correspondence to regulatory bodies
  • Oversight of procurement, vendor management, outsourcing arrangements, and record retention processes
  • Act as backup for the General Administration and premises security functions
  • Timely submission of MIS reports, regulatory responses, and operational performance reports
  • Review and periodic revision of operational policies, procedure manuals, and service level frameworks
  • Preparation and submission of payment memos — with follow-up until final approval and timely settlement of vendor payments

Applicant Requirements

  • B.Sc. Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Branch Operations or Back-office Banking Operations within a licensed commercial bank
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications — Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills — ability to work with multiple stakeholders including branches, vendors, and regulatory authorities
  • Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulatory frameworks, banking operations, and compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet strict operational deadlines
