Role Overview

SriLankan Airlines Limited is seeking a highly experienced and visionary senior leader to serve as the General Manager of SriLankan Aviation College. This is a prestigious government enterprise appointment that carries significant strategic and operational responsibility. The General Manager will lead the overall management of the aviation college, drive academic excellence, build institutional partnerships, and ensure SriLankan Aviation College continues to grow as a regionally recognised centre of aviation training. Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of SriLankan Aviation College’s academic and administrative operations
• Develop and implement the college’s strategic plan, business plan, and annual budget in alignment with SriLankan Airlines’ corporate objectives
• Drive revenue growth by expanding student enrolment, developing new training programmes, and securing partnerships with airlines, aviation organisations, and international institutions
• Ensure all training programmes maintain IATA accreditation and meet international aviation regulatory standards
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of trainers, administrators, and support staff
• Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including IATA, CAASL (Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka), industry partners, and international aviation bodies
• Oversee the college’s financial performance, cost management, and profitability targets
• Champion innovation in aviation training delivery including digital and simulation-based learning
• Report to senior leadership of SriLankan Airlines on college performance, strategic initiatives, and key metrics

General Requirements

• Substantial senior management or executive leadership experience, preferably in aviation, training, or education
• Relevant degree; postgraduate qualifications in Business, Aviation Management, or Education Leadership are preferred
• Strong business development, financial management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Knowledge of IATA programmes, aviation training standards, and regulatory requirements is a significant advantage
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
