Role Overview

Thilakma is looking for a dynamic, result-oriented, and experienced Accountant to join the Finance Team at Thilakma City, Mahabage. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with retail sector experience to grow their career with a leading Sri Lankan retail organization. The role involves managing MIS reporting, ensuring tax compliance, implementing cost-saving strategies, and supporting financial closing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage MIS reporting, financial analysis, and forecasting to support management decision-making with accurate and timely data
• Ensure compliance with taxation and statutory regulations while liaising with relevant authorities including the Inland Revenue Department
• Implement and recommend cost-saving strategies and process improvements across financial operations
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in accordance with accounting standards
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and closed accurately
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure financial data accuracy and operational compliance
• Support the finance team in budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities
• Maintain accounting software systems and ensure data integrity across all financial records

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or Professional qualifications in Finance or Accounting (CIMA, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in the Retail sector
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Proficiency in financial software systems and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment
• High degree of accuracy, integrity, and professional accountability
