Role Overview
Hayleys is looking for a commercially minded and results-driven Assistant Manager – Sales & Marketing to strengthen Clarion Shipping’s market position and grow revenue from new and existing MLO and NVOCC customers. This is a client-facing sales role requiring strong freight forwarding knowledge and excellent communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify business opportunities, customer requirements, and competitive threats in the freight forwarding sector
- Prospect new business by arranging meetings with potential MLOs and NVOCCs, providing comprehensive and competitive quotations
- Gather and relay customer feedback through surveys and direct interviews to support product and service improvements
- Maintain and analyse statistics to improve market share and inform sales strategy
- Share accurate and timely information with internal and external stakeholders including customers and principals
- Ensure consistency of service quality by adhering to standard operating procedures
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across products, services and processes
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Logistics, Business Management or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Sales/Marketing role within logistics, freight forwarding or shipping
- Experience in Freight Forwarding and Shipping/Logistics operations is a strong advantage
- Excellent command of English — written and spoken
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Outgoing personality with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
