The company is currently looking to strengthen its administrative team and is seeking a competent and proactive Office Assistant to join their Ja-Ela operations.
About the Role
New Hope Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. is looking for a reliable, computer-literate, and professional Office Assistant to support the smooth running of their day-to-day office operations. This is a full-time role based at their premises in Ekala, Ja-Ela, and requires someone with at least one year of proven experience in an office environment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to problem-solve effectively.
The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator who can represent the company professionally in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the office team, including data entry, filing, and document management.
- Prepare and process routine correspondence, memos, reports, and other documents as required.
- Answer and manage telephone calls, directing queries to the appropriate person and taking messages accurately.
- Coordinate meetings and appointments, managing scheduling and ensuring all logistics are in place.
- Maintain and update office records and filing systems — both physical and digital — ensuring accuracy and easy retrieval.
- Support procurement activities by tracking office supplies and placing orders when necessary.
- Assist with general office management tasks including managing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Support other departments with administrative tasks as needed, ensuring smooth cross-departmental communication.
- Uphold office standards, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
- Computer literate — proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- At least 1 year of proven work experience as an Office Assistant or in a similar administrative role.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and visitors.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
