Job Overview
Shinnyo-En Lanka Preschool has current vacancies for Preschool Teachers across two experience categories. If you are passionate about early childhood education, have a warm and nurturing personality, and meet the required qualifications and experience, we would love to have you on board. Experience Categories
Category I
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher in a recognised early childhood education setting.
Category II
A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher, bringing a wealth of expertise and leadership to the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and stimulating lessons aligned with the preschool curriculum.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and creativity in young children.
- Monitor and assess each child’s developmental progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the school administration.
- Organise and facilitate structured play-based activities, storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and educational games.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, developmental milestones, and classroom observations.
- Communicate proactively with parents regarding their child’s progress, behaviour, and any areas requiring attention.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and school values.
- Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development programmes as required.
Requirements
- Must be AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) qualified or hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
- Excellent command of the English language — both spoken and written — is a must.
- Computer literacy is a must for managing student records and preparing reports.
- Age below 45 years.
- A positive, warm, and approachable personality with a natural ability to connect with and inspire young children.
- Creative, flexible, and adaptable approach to teaching and classroom management.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field would be considered an added qualification.
