Job Overview
Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and sustainability-oriented individual to join their Corporate Sustainability team at the Colombo Head Office as an Intern – CSR. This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) initiatives, community development, and responsible business practices, and who are eager to gain hands-on exposure within a leading sustainability-focused corporate environment. Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to ongoing CSR and sustainability initiatives of Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, monitoring, and preparation of sustainability and CSR-related reports.
- Support the implementation of CSR projects and maintain CSR databases, documentation, and tracking systems.
- Actively contribute to project coordination, field activities, and sustainability engagement programmes across the company’s operations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective implementation of CSR and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist in sustainability communications, awareness programmes, and community engagement activities.
- Support the Sustainability Team in achieving the organisation’s ESG and social responsibility objectives.
Applicant Profile
- Strong interest in community development, sustainability, ESG initiatives, and social responsibility-related activities.
- Genuine passion for CSR implementation, sustainability projects, stakeholder engagement, and creating positive social and environmental impact.
- Prior exposure or experience in CSR, sustainability, community projects, volunteering activities, or related fields will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic reporting and documentation tools.
- A good team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic corporate environment.
- Willingness to travel to outstation locations and estate operations for project implementation, monitoring, and community engagement activities.
