Job Overview

Sri Lanka Customs is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Customs (Open). This is an Open Recruitment vacancy, available to all eligible citizens of Sri Lanka who meet the required qualifications. The recruitment is conducted through the official examination system administered by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce customs laws and regulations at ports, airports, and border points
• Inspect and assess imported and exported goods for customs duty purposes
• Investigate cases of smuggling, misdeclaration, and customs fraud
• Prepare and maintain accurate customs documentation and official records
• Coordinate with other government agencies on trade facilitation and compliance matters
• Supervise customs officers and support staff in day-to-day operations
• Assist in the clearance of passenger and cargo at entry/exit points
• Ensure compliance with international trade agreements and WTO obligations
