Role Overview

CBS is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Store Keeper – Mechanical to manage the mechanical spare parts store at their Kuliyapitiya facility. This role is essential to the smooth functioning of CBS’s manufacturing and maintenance operations — ensuring mechanical components, tools, and materials are received, recorded, stored, and issued efficiently to support the engineering and production teams.

Location: Kuliyapitiya, North Western Province
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Preference: Male candidates; candidates in close proximity to Kuliyapitiya

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming mechanical spare parts, tools, and materials from suppliers and internal requisitions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of all mechanical items, spare parts, and stock levels
• Issue spare parts and materials against approved work orders and maintenance requests — updating stock registers accurately
• Monitor minimum stock levels and proactively coordinate with the purchasing department for timely reordering of critical spares
• Ensure proper storage, systematic labelling, and cleanliness of the mechanical store area at all times
• Arrange materials systematically for easy identification, quick retrieval, and safe handling
• Prepare periodic stock reports and assist with stock verification, reconciliation, and annual audits
• Check the condition of stored items regularly — report damaged, deteriorated, or obsolete stock for disposal
• Support the maintenance and engineering teams by providing required materials on time to minimise downtime
• Follow company safety procedures, store control policies, and 5S standards

Qualifications

• GCE (A/L) qualification or above
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in store keeping — preferably in a mechanical spare parts store within a manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge of mechanical spare parts, tools, and materials will be a strong added advantage
• Basic computer knowledge — MS Office, ERP systems, and stock management software
• Strong attention to detail and well-developed organisational skills
• Candidates residing in close proximity to Kuliyapitiya are strongly preferred
• Male candidates preferred
