Role Overview

PL.MTT. Muthukaruppan Chettiar Jewellers is offering a golden opportunity for a talented, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Cashier. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions at this premier jewellery brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling cash, credit card, and cheque transactions with the highest level of precision and professionalism.

Age: 25–30 years (preferred)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and efficient handling of all cashier functions at the point of sale
• Process all cash, credit card, and cheque transactions — accurately recording each transaction in the system
• Ensure proper management of daily cash accounts — opening, balancing, and closing the cash register daily
• Maintain periodic transaction reports and ensure up-to-date bank account reconciliations
• Handle customer billing, invoice generation, and receipt issuance professionally
• Coordinate with the accounts team for daily cash handovers and financial documentation
• Detect and report any discrepancies, errors, or suspicious transactions to the finance supervisor
• Maintain the cashier workstation in a neat, organised, and secure manner at all times

Qualifications & Prerequisites

• GCE A/L qualification
• Ability to work accurately and confidently in a computerised environment — specifically with ERP Systems and MS Excel (Good IT knowledge required)

Added Qualifications (Preferred)

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar cashier or finance support role
• Female Tamil candidates residing in the Colombo area are encouraged to apply
• Age between 25–30 years
