About the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB)
The Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB) — Y%S ,xld mrudKql n,Yla;s uKav,h — is the apex government body in Sri Lanka responsible for promoting the peaceful applications of nuclear technology and regulating radiological safety across the country. Established under the Atomic Energy Authority Act, SLAEB oversees nuclear research, radiation protection, radioactive waste management, and the application of nuclear techniques in medicine, agriculture, industry, and environmental science. SLAEB works closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and plays a key role in Sri Lanka’s scientific and technical development.
Available Positions
🔹 Management Assistant (l,ukdlrK iyldr)
Administrative support role within SLAEB’s operations. The Management Assistant provides secretarial, administrative, and records management support across the Board’s divisions.
- GCE A/L qualification with computer literacy (MS Office)
- Good communication skills in Sinhala and English
- Prior government administrative experience is an advantage
🔹 Scientific Officer (úoHd;aul ks,OdÍ)
A technical research and regulatory role within SLAEB. Scientific Officers conduct nuclear and radiological research, perform radiation measurements, support safety assessments, and contribute to SLAEB’s regulatory and advisory functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or a related science discipline
- Postgraduate qualification or specialisation in nuclear science, radiation protection, or related field is an advantage
- Strong analytical, research, and laboratory skills
- Experience in radiation safety, dosimetry, or nuclear analytical techniques is preferred
