About the Vacancy

Indian Bank’s Colombo operation, a licensed commercial bank registered with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, is calling for applications for the post of Banking Assistant. It is an entry-level banking job open to young Sri Lankans with good O/L and A/L results, and it comes with a remuneration package and fringe benefits set according to Indian Bank’s norms. Banking experience or IBSL study is preferred but not required.

Minimum Eligibility

Sri Lankan citizenship
G.C.E. (O/L) with at least 5 credit passes, including an “A” pass in English and Mathematics, in one sitting
Four passes at G.C.E. (A/L), including English, in one sitting
Computer literacy (essential)
Not older than 28 years as of 30 September 2026

Preferred

Previous banking experience
Part or full qualification in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL)

Selection and Posting

Shortlisting may include a written exam, followed by an interview. Both test Mathematics, General Knowledge, IQ and English. Successful candidates must be willing to work anywhere in Sri Lanka where Indian Bank has, or later opens, a branch.
