About MAS Shadowline and MAS Activewear

MAS Shadowline is one of the plants in the Activewear Value Stream of MAS Holdings. Activewear produces sportswear and athleisure built for performance, durability and everyday wear, and supplies internationally known apparel brands. Its product range covers knit, engineered knit, fleece, tees, woven garments and sweaters. The division manufactures in Sri Lanka, Jordan and Indonesia, has development teams in Sri Lanka and Canada, and is also working on wearable technology that records fitness and workout data.

The Katunayake plant needs an Assistant – Employee Relations – Operations. The post is a 1-year fixed-term contract.

Role overview

This role focuses on the employee relations side of HR at a busy manufacturing site. You will watch attendance patterns, deal with grievances, keep compliance with company policy on track, and give managers the reports and data they need to make decisions. You will work with teams across the plant, so communication and coordination matter as much as record-keeping.

What you will do

• Monitor employee absenteeism and spot recurring patterns
• Keep practices in line with company policies
• Maintain accurate employee relations reports and databases
• Support cadre fulfilment, so that each section has the headcount it needs
• Handle employee grievances fairly and on time
• Work with other teams to respond to employee needs and keep a positive workplace

Who they are looking for

• A degree or an equivalent professional qualification in Human Resource Management
• 1–2 years of work experience
• Strong communication and employee relations skills
• Good IT skills
