About MAS Sleekline and the Activewear Value Stream

MAS Sleekline belongs to the Activewear Value Stream of MAS Holdings, which makes sportswear and athleisure for sports, lifestyle and performance markets. The business works in knit, engineered knit, fleece, tees, woven garments and sweaters, and is also developing wearable technology that tracks fitness and workout data. Activewear manufactures in Sri Lanka, Jordan and Indonesia, with product development in Sri Lanka and Canada, and supplies well-known international apparel brands.

The Nittambuwa plant is hiring an Assistant – Human Resources – Operations on a one-year fixed-term contract.

Role overview

This post is focused on workplace culture and social sustainability on the factory floor. A large part of the job is running MAS’s Women Go Beyond programme within the plant, which supports women employees, and delivering the plant’s commitments under MAS’s Social Sustainability tools.

What you will do

Promote and run Women Go Beyond initiatives at the plant
Drive delivery of key targets under the Social Sustainability tools, with accurate and timely data submission
Maintain good employee relations across the plant
Track and respond to workforce metrics such as absenteeism, staff turnover and retention
Submit statutory data accurately and on time
Work directly with factory employees to promote diversity and empowerment

Who they are looking for

A degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, completed or in progress
6 months to 1 year of experience in Employee Relations or HR Operations

Because undergraduates are considered and the experience requirement is short, this is a realistic next step for someone early in an HR career.
