Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) — “Learn. Research. Transform.” — is seeking passionate, organized, and dedicated individuals to join its academic team within the Faculty of Technology, Department of Applied Electronics, as Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants. Successful candidates will contribute to excellence in teaching, learning, and research by supporting academic instruction, student engagement, and research activities within their respective disciplines.

Teaching Assistant – The Role

• Assist faculty members in lesson planning, preparation, classroom management, and other instructional activities
• Support organizing tutorial classes, laboratory sessions, and student project supervision, while providing one-on-one academic assistance as required
• Collaborate with academic staff to foster engaging and interactive learning experiences
• Participate actively in academic events, workshops, departmental initiatives, and extracurricular activities

Teaching Assistant – Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with Honors (First Class or Second Class – Upper Division) from a recognized university in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong academic knowledge of undergraduate engineering subjects and laboratory practices
• Proficiency in preparing teaching materials, laboratory manuals, reports, and other academic documentation
• Good organizational and administrative skills to support course coordination, examinations, laboratory management, and departmental activities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, laboratory demonstrating, or academic administration will be an added advantage

Research Assistant – The Role

• Assist academic staff in conducting research, including designing and testing prototypes, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical reports
• Support research publications, grant-funded projects, and undergraduate research activities while maintaining laboratory equipment and adhering to safety procedures
• Participate in research meetings, seminars, and workshops, and undertake other research-related duties as assigned

Research Assistant – Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with Honors (First Class or Second Class – Upper Division) from a recognized university in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong academic background with knowledge of electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and microcontroller programming
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
• Basic knowledge of PCB design, soldering, and electronic hardware prototyping
• Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB is an advantage
• Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Proteus, or similar) is desirable
• Experience in research projects, final-year projects, publications, or technical competitions will be considered an added advantage
• Ability to conduct literature reviews, collect and analyze research data, and prepare technical reports
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
