About the role

The Stores Keeper receives raw materials, spare parts and packing materials, checks them against purchase orders and invoices, stores them in the right place and records every movement in the ERP system. The job also includes stock counts and reconciliation.

Job responsibilities

• Prepare periodic inventory reports
• Keep records of issues, expenditure, sales figures and employee performance
• Receive raw materials, spare parts, packing materials and other deliveries, and verify them against purchase orders or invoices
• Store materials in the correct locations with proper identification, labelling and arrangement
• Update GRNs, stock issues, returns and transfers in the ERP system promptly
• Keep stock records accurate so physical stock matches the ERP figures
• Maintain GRNs, material issue notes, stock transfer documents and other store records
• Carry out regular physical stock counts and help with monthly and annual stock verification and reconciliation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
• GCE Advanced Level (required); a diploma in stores or logistics management is desirable
• Below 40 years of age
• Good computer literacy and Excel knowledge

Tips for your application

The duty list is heavy on documents: GRNs, issue notes, transfer notes and reconciliations. Mention how often you ran stock counts in past jobs and whether you fixed differences between physical and system stock. If you’ve worked with spare parts stores in a factory, say so, since that’s part of this store.
