About the role

DAMRO, a Sri Lankan business group, is recruiting trainee Store Clerks for its factories. The vacancies are at these locations:

Kurunegala (Thorayaya)
Dambadeniya
Kotadeniyawa
Pannala
Mirigama
Attanagalla

This is an entry-level trainee job. No previous work experience is asked for, and the pay is stated in the ad, which makes it a practical first job for someone who has finished A/Ls.

Salary

Rs. 50,000 a month during the 3-month training period. After training, pay will be no less than Rs. 60,000 a month.

Requirements

GCE (A/L) qualification
Computer literate
Permanent resident within 30 km of one of the locations above
The employer states that the position is open to male applicants below 26 years of age

Tips for your application

Say which factory location you’re applying for and how far you live from it, since the 30 km residence rule is a firm requirement. List your A/L subjects and results, and any computer course you’ve done (MS Office, ICT or data entry). For a store clerk role, basic Excel is the skill most worth mentioning.
