Role Overview

Resplendent Ceylon is seeking a warm and engaging Shop Assistant to join the team at Ceylon Tea Trails. This is a unique opportunity to work in one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic luxury settings, sharing the stories and heritage of Ceylon tea with discerning guests from around the world. The Shop Assistant will welcome guests into the tea shop, maintain a beautifully curated retail space, and help extend the warm hospitality of Ceylon Tea Trails beyond the bungalow. The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for tea, storytelling, and impeccable guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly into the tea shop and create a memorable, engaging retail experience
• Share the stories, heritage, and uniqueness of hand-picked Ceylon teas with guests in an authentic and knowledgeable manner
• Maintain the retail space in a beautifully curated, well-organised, and visually appealing condition at all times
• Assist guests in selecting teas and products that suit their preferences, providing expert recommendations
• Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently
• Manage stock levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report replenishment needs
• Support the team in extending the hospitality of Ceylon Tea Trails into the retail space
• Ensure attention to detail in product display, labelling, and presentation
• Build lasting impressions that reflect the elegance and heritage of the Resplendent Ceylon brand

Your Profile

• Prior experience in retail or guest service, ideally within a luxury setting
• A genuine passion for tea and the ability to storytell about tea heritage and culture
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English
• Friendly, courteous, and confident when engaging with guests from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to manage stock and handle transactions efficiently
• Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of presentation
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
