The Opportunity: Relationship Manager โ€“ Priority Banking

Seylan Bank is seeking a Relationship Manager for its Priority Banking unit, responsible for acquiring and growing relationships with High Net-Worth (HNW) clients. This leadership-track role combines portfolio management, cross-selling strategy, and compliance oversight, ideal for a banking professional with strong relationship management experience looking to step into elite client servicing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acquire new to bank High Net-Worth (HNW) relationships and maintain superior service standards with high customer satisfaction
  • Achieve established financial targets, monitor actual performance, and take remedial actions in a timely manner to manage shortfalls effectively
  • Effectively contribute to the initiation and implementation of strategies for cross-selling and up-selling
  • Maintain the customer portfolio and profile of Elite clients efficiently, while adhering to compliance policies and KYC
  • Proactively develop strong relationships with high net-worth clients by building customer confidence and positive perception of the organization
  • Actively engage in unit operations to help achieve a positive audit rating

The Person

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the bank with exposure to branch banking and relationship management
  • Full or part qualification in Finance / Marketing / Banking, or a recognized degree in Management
  • Solid knowledge of competitors, industry trends, and the changing regulatory framework, with special emphasis on compliance function (KYC/AML) and internal banking operations
  • Smart, intelligent, and with a pleasing personality
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in English / Sinhala languages
