MBSL invites applications from suitably qualified and ambitious candidates for the position of Investment Officer (Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Grade) to join their investment and capital markets team in Colombo.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the equity portfolio of MBSL, covering both trading and investment activities.
• Oversee MBSL-Client Portfolio Management operations and maintain client portfolios in a profitable manner.
• Conduct and lead Investment Committee meetings, presenting well-researched insights and recommendations.
• Update the MBSL portfolio regularly and take timely buy and sell decisions based on market analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports related to Corporate Advisory and Capital Market functions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate all matters relating to the Integrated Risk Management Committee and manage MBSL and client portfolios with a risk-aware approach.
• Lead the annual re-composition of the midcap index and deliver accurate results.
• Promote and develop business related to Corporate Advisory and Capital Market functions to achieve business targets.
• Conduct Business Valuations and in-depth Financial Analysis in support of investment decisions and client advisory.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a professional qualification in Finance / Capital Markets.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a reputed bank or financial institution in a relevant field.
• OR a relevant recognised Diploma / GCE A/L examination with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Executive Capacity.
• OR GCE O/L examination with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Executive Capacity.
• Strong knowledge of equity markets, capital markets, and investment management.
• Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced financial environment with strong attention to detail and decision-making ability.
