Role Overview — TOP URGENT

Waguruwela Oil Mills has an immediate, top-urgent requirement for a Human Resource Intern (Male or Female) to join their HR team. This is a hands-on HR internship that provides practical experience in payroll administration, employee records management, and HR administrative functions within a growing manufacturing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the weekly employee payroll system — supporting accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for all factory employees
• Support HR administrative tasks — drafting HR letters, maintaining HR files, and supporting HR processes across the organisation
• Help with maintaining employee records and documentation — ensuring all employee files are accurate, complete, and up to date
• Coordinate with staff on HR-related matters — serving as a point of contact for employee queries and HR information
• Assist with attendance monitoring, leave tracking, and overtime records management
• Support recruitment activities — job posting assistance, interview coordination, and candidate communication

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of HR or Accounting principles — this is an advantage
• Good organisational and communication skills in Sinhala; English is an advantage
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
• Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute positively to the HR team
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/industrial environment in Pannala
