Role Details
English Subject Coordinator
The English Subject Coordinator will lead and oversee the English subject area within the school, working collaboratively with teachers, management, and students to ensure high-quality English language instruction across all grade levels.
- Coordinate the English curriculum across all classes and grade levels
- Provide academic leadership and mentorship to English teachers within the department
- Develop and review English syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment strategies
- Monitor student academic progress and implement improvement plans where needed
- Collaborate with school management on curriculum development and quality assurance
- Conduct peer observations and provide professional feedback to teaching staff
- Organise English-related extracurricular activities, competitions, and events
- Liaise with parents and guardians on student academic performance
English Literature Teacher
The English Literature Teacher will deliver high-quality English Literature lessons, inspiring students to engage critically and creatively with literary texts across a range of genres, periods, and styles.
- Plan and deliver engaging English Literature lessons aligned with the local and Edexcel curricula
- Guide students through the critical analysis and appreciation of literary works
- Design and administer assessments, essays, and examinations
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to help students improve their analytical writing skills
- Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and academic committees
- Foster a love of reading and literature in students at all levels
Requirements (Both Positions)
- Relevant academic qualifications in the English subject area (degree in English Language, Literature, or Education)
- Previous teaching experience required; experience with Local and Edexcel curricula is an added advantage
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and genuine commitment to student development
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators
