Lanka Mineral Sands Limited — a fully state-owned company — invites applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the following vacancy at its Pulmoday Plant (පුල්මුඩේ යන්ත්‍රාගාරය).

Electrician (විදුලි කාර්මික ශිල්පී)

Educational & Professional Qualifications

Education

Should have passed the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination in not more than two (02) sittings, with six (06) subjects including two (02) credit passes.

Professional Skills / Proficiency

Should have obtained a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certificate at Level 4, issued by a technical/vocational training institute recognised by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, relevant to the post of Electrician.

For External Applicants — one of the following

1. Five (05) years’ experience in the field of electrical work, together with an NVQ Level 4 certificate (relevant to the Electrician post) from a recognised technical/vocational training institute, having passed the relevant Trade Test, and service in the Primary Semi-Skilled (PL-2) or Primary Skilled (PL-1) service categories; OR
2. An NVQ Level 4 certificate relevant to the post of Electrician issued by a technical/vocational training institute recognised by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

Salary Scale (PL-3)

As per Management Services Circular 01/2025:
PL-3: Rs. 43,280 – 490×10 – 540×10 – 590×10 – 630×12 – 67,040 (per month).
The initial salary step on the salary scale is Rs. 43,280, and Rs. 40,834 will be paid in accordance with Schedule II at the initial recruitment salary step. The salary applicable on recruitment will be determined under Chapter VII of the Establishments Code.

Age Limit

Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit is not applicable to internal applicants.

General Conditions

1. Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
2. Applicants should be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post and to serve in any region of the island.
3. Applicants must be of excellent character (police clearance may be required).
4. Selected applicants will be liable to bear the cost of their initial appointment documentation as applicable.
5. Age is calculated as at the closing date of applications.
