The company is now seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join its team based in Kurunagala for road construction projects.

Job Overview

The Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and documentation in support of road construction projects being undertaken by Maga Engineering in the Kurunagala area. This is a site-based role that requires hands-on experience in civil or road construction draughtsmanship, combined with technical accuracy and the ability to work within a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings, layout plans, cross-sections, and construction details for road construction projects.
• Interpret and work from engineering specifications, survey data, and project drawings.
• Assist the site engineering team in producing and updating as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure all drawings reflect design changes and field conditions accurately.
• Maintain an organised and up-to-date drawing register for the project.
• Comply with Maga Engineering’s quality standards, safety guidelines, and project documentation requirements.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers as required in relation to technical drawing submissions.

Candidate Profile

• National Certificate in Engineering Draughtsmanship (NCED) / DA or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of site experience specifically in road construction projects.
• Proficiency in relevant CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) is expected.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work effectively within a site-based team environment in Kurunagala.
