Headquartered at No. 71A, Dalugama, Kandy Road, Kelaniya, the company is currently looking to expand its documentation team and is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive female candidate to join as a Documentation Clerk.
About the Role
V.V. Karunaratne & Company is seeking a dedicated Documentation Clerk (Female) to handle the documentation and administrative requirements of the company’s transport and logistics operations. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn the intricacies of logistics documentation in a fast-paced environment.
The role requires someone who is computer literate, organised, and capable of managing documentation tasks accurately and efficiently. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Kiribathgoda/Kelaniya area or surrounding suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and maintain all documentation related to transport and logistics operations, including delivery notes, shipping documents, waybills, and import/export records.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation before processing or filing.
- Organise and maintain physical and digital filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
- Coordinate with internal teams (operations, accounts, procurement) and external parties (clients, agents, customs officials) to ensure timely flow of documentation.
- Data entry of shipment details, client information, and logistics records into company systems.
- Track and follow up on pending documentation and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with general administrative duties as required by the HR Manager or operations team.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all records at all times.
Requirements
- Should have passed G.C.E. O/Level and A/Level examinations.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office (Word, Excel) is required.
- Willingness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a team player mindset are essential.
- Good communication skills in Sinhala and/or English.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Preference will be given to candidates living in the Kiribathgoda/Kelaniya area or nearby suburbs.
