Vella is now seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Manager – Human Resources to support and drive people initiatives across multiple businesses within their growing leisure portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to partner with business leaders, influence organisational culture, and contribute to the success of a diverse range of hospitality and leisure operations.

📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic and operational HR support across multiple leisure sector businesses.
  • Support performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Drive employee relations and disciplinary processes while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Coordinate learning and development programs to enhance employee capability and performance.
  • Monitor manpower planning, workforce productivity, and HR metrics.
  • Support the implementation of HR projects, systems, and process improvements across the Group.
  • Foster a culture aligned with the Group’s values, service standards, and business objectives.

✅ Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the hospitality, leisure, or service industry.
  • Experience managing HR operations across multiple business units, properties, or locations will be a distinct advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems.
