BakeShop Colombo is a bakery and food retail brand under BakeFuture, operating in Sri Lanka’s food manufacturing and retail sector. The company is expanding its outlet network and needs a hands-on finance professional to run its Finance & Operations function.
The role
The Assistant Manager oversees accounting, month-end closing, and management reporting, while also managing purchasing, supplier payments, and inventory controls across BakeShop’s outlets.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee accounting, month-end closing, and management reporting
- Handle VAT, SSCL, income tax, and other statutory compliance requirements
- Monitor costing, margins, budgets, and cash flow
- Oversee purchasing, supplier payments, and inventory/stores controls
- Strengthen financial controls and provide management with timely analysis
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Part-qualified CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, or ACCA preferred
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or distribution
- Sound knowledge of taxation, audit, and statutory compliance
- Strong Excel and ERP/accounting-system skills; Odoo exposure is an advantage
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
