About the role

Munasco Capital (Pvt) Ltd is filling an Accounts Executive post at its head office, “WORX 14”, No. 14, Gower Street, Colombo 05.

This is a full accounts cycle role. The person records daily transactions, reconciles bank accounts, prepares management accounts, handles payables, receivables and debt collection, and runs payroll. Working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process
Reconcile bank accounts and prepare management accounts, including the P&L, balance sheet and cash reports
Work with internal departments, auditors, banks, suppliers and other outside parties
Process accounts payable and receivable on time
Monitor revenue and expenditure so they’re recorded and reported correctly
Handle invoicing, follow-up and recovery of customer debts
Process payroll accurately and on schedule

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field
Part qualified in CA, CIMA or ACCA, or fully qualified in AAT
Familiar with accounting software and MS Office
Good knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Very good written and spoken English
Able to work independently and meet deadlines
Accurate, honest and careful with detail
Good interpersonal skills
More than 1 year of experience in the commercial sector (essential)
Below 30 years of age

Tips for your application

Payroll and debt recovery sit alongside the usual bookkeeping here, which many junior accounts roles leave out. If you’ve run a monthly payroll, handled EPF and ETF, or chased overdue customer accounts, list it clearly. Name the accounting software you’ve used and state which CA, CIMA or ACCA level you’ve passed.
