The company is now looking to strengthen its finance team with motivated Accounts Assistants.

Role Overview

Shanthi Stores is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistants for their Back Office to join their finance team. The role covers a range of accounting and inventory-related responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates with accounting qualifications who are looking to build experience in a fast-paced retail and supermarket environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting entries, data entry, and financial records maintenance
• Preparing payment vouchers and processing supplier and operational payments accurately
• Proper control and management of the organisation’s barcode system
• Check and receive goods for all departments as per supplier invoices — verify quantities, prices, and condition
• Assist in stock reconciliation and inventory management support activities
• Maintain accurate filing of financial documents and vouchers

Qualifications

• G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) qualification (Commerce stream preferred)
• Part qualification of AAT or any recognised accounting body (CIMA / CA Foundation or equivalent)
• Strong proficiency in MS Office — particularly Excel and Word
• Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Minimum one year of experience at a goods receiving section or in stores within a supermarket or retail environment is an added advantage
• Candidates living in close proximity to Kandana will be given strong preference
