Role Overview

Eastern University, Sri Lanka is seeking a qualified and responsible individual to fill the position of Academic Sub Warden. This is a government university appointment responsible for the welfare, discipline, and residential supervision of students in university hostels. The role requires a dedicated individual who can provide guidance, support, and a safe residential environment for university students. The closing date for applications is 25th May 2026.

Key Duties of an Academic Sub Warden

• Maintain discipline, welfare, and order in the assigned university student hostel
• Provide pastoral care and counselling support to resident students
• Enforce hostel rules and regulations in accordance with university policies
• Supervise and coordinate hostel staff to ensure smooth residential operations
• Monitor student attendance and promptly report disciplinary matters to the Warden
• Assist in organising hostel activities, events, and student welfare programmes
• Maintain records of resident students and prepare reports as required
• Respond to student emergencies and coordinate with relevant university authorities

General Requirements

• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
