Position: Intern – Merchandising

Job Overview
As a Merchandising Intern at MAS Activewear – Biyagama, you will be embedded in the merchandising function of a leading activewear manufacturing facility, gaining hands-on experience in supplier liaison, material tracking, sample management, and inventory control. This is an excellent launchpad for individuals who are passionate about a career in apparel merchandising and supply chain management.
Your Role with Us
- Liaise with suppliers to gather material details, specifications, and updates on fabric and trim components.
- Track material deliveries and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers to prevent delays in the production pipeline.
- Assist with material ordering processes, including raising requests and coordinating with procurement teams.
- Support sample planning activities to ensure samples are prepared and dispatched on schedule for buyer approvals.
- Maintain and update sample material inventory controls to ensure accurate stock management.
- Coordinate with internal teams including production, quality, and design to align on material requirements and timelines.
- Assist with general merchandising administration including documentation, reporting, and filing.
Who We’re Looking For
- Proactive undergraduates or recent graduates in Business Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Team-oriented with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the fast-paced activewear and apparel industry.
