Job Overview

The Boiler Operator will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of industrial boiler equipment at the Sunquick Lanka manufacturing plant in Horana. This is a critical technical role requiring both formal qualifications and hands-on operational experience to ensure uninterrupted production and plant safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial boiler equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
• Monitor boiler performance parameters (pressure, temperature, water levels) and make necessary adjustments
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boiler systems and associated equipment
• Identify and report any faults, irregularities, or safety concerns promptly to the engineering team
• Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and reports for all boiler activities
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols, environmental standards, and plant procedures
• Coordinate with the engineering and production teams to ensure uninterrupted steam supply for manufacturing operations
• Support shutdowns, startups, and emergency procedures as required

Requirements

• G.C.E. O/L (Sinhala or English medium) qualification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant technical field related to boiler operations
• NVQ Level 03 or Level 04 certification (fully completed)
• A valid Boiler Operator Certificate issued by a recognized institution — at the 3rd Class level or above
• Strong awareness of boiler safety practices and industrial plant operations
• Ability to work in shift patterns and under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
