Role Overview

Swisstek is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their finance team at their Gampaha factory operations. The successful candidate will support accurate financial record-keeping, petty cash management, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing processes within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with company accounting standards and policies
  • Handle factory petty cash floats — recording, reconciling, and replenishing as required
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and periodic reports
  • Perform journal entries and maintain the general ledger accurately
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes — ensuring all transactions are captured and reconciled
  • Prepare monthly management reports and ad-hoc financial analyses as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Assist with compliance with accounting procedures and company financial policies

Requirements

  • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Accounting or Finance — or AAT Completed / Intermediate level in ACA or CMA
  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Trainee in a similar role
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills — high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite — especially Excel
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
