Internship: Autonomation Intern — Activewear Division, MAS Linea Intimo, Biyagama

MAS Linea Intimo is seeking bright, innovative undergraduates to join as Autonomation Interns in their Activewear division. This is a unique engineering and technology internship that sits at the intersection of software, hardware, and data science — working directly on automation projects that optimise manufacturing operations within a world-class apparel facility.

Your Role — What You Will Do

• Design and develop digital automation solutions to replace or optimise manual operations within the manufacturing facility
• Implement and maintain automation projects involving both hardware components (sensors, PLCs, IoT devices) and software systems
• Develop analytical models and dashboards to monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and support data-driven decision making
• Collaborate with the engineering, production, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and prototype solutions
• Document automation processes, system configurations, and project outcomes
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of implemented automation systems

Who We’re Looking For

• Proactive undergraduates or recent graduates in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic), or Physical Science
• Strong communication and teamwork skills — ability to collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Interest in automation, IoT, data analytics, machine learning, or smart manufacturing
• Programming knowledge (Python, R, or similar) is an added advantage
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability and technical curiosity
• Eagerness to learn, contribute, and make a real impact within a world-class apparel manufacturing environment
