Role Overview

Tensor Solutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented IT Assistant (Computer Hardware) to join their team at The Offices at Cinnamon Life, Colombo 02. This role is central to ensuring the smooth functioning of all IT hardware, peripherals, and infrastructure for the company and its clients. The position requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts on a roster basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computer hardware, peripherals, and IT equipment across all offices and client sites
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues in a timely and efficient manner — minimising downtime
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, components, and workstations
• Ensure the smooth operation of IT equipment and infrastructure at all times
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IT assets, hardware inventory, and support activities
• Work closely with the broader IT team to support daily operations and ongoing IT projects
• Assist with network connectivity issues, hardware diagnostics, and equipment replacements
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff with clear and detailed technical documentation

Requirements

• Diploma in Computer Hardware and Networking from a recognised institution
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar IT hardware support role
• Knowledge in computer networking will be an added advantage
• Fluent in English — both written and verbal communication
• Strong ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and work efficiently
• Flexibility in working hours — must be willing to work both day and night shifts on a roster basis
