Role Overview

JP Poultry Products is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their Badalgama office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience, a strong working knowledge of accounting software, and will contribute directly to the financial management of a growing food production company.

Location: Badalgama, Gampaha District
Salary: Negotiable based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Requirements

• Partly qualified AAT or partly qualified CA Sri Lanka (Foundation or Intermediate level)
• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software — Tally is preferred
• Sound understanding of core accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, reconciliations)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and meet reporting deadlines
• Good communication skills and professional work ethic

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records and ledger entries using Tally or equivalent software
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately
• Prepare and verify payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting documentation
• Assist in monthly bank reconciliations and preparation of financial summaries
• Support the Finance Manager in preparing monthly financial reports
• Ensure proper filing of all financial documents for audit readiness
