About the role

Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC is hiring Area Managers to run its branch networks in Colombo and the outstation regions. Each Area Manager is accountable for the financial results of the branches in an assigned region: SME lending growth, CASA deposits, overall liabilities, profitability, portfolio quality and the performance of the Branch Managers. Key responsibilities

• Meet financial targets and keep each branch running as a profitable business unit
• Plan and carry out regional business strategies that widen the customer base and raise profitability
• Grow the SME lending portfolio across branches and reach the budgeted lending targets, with a focus on mid-sized and large SME customers
• Grow CASA deposits, total liabilities and branch profitability through business development, sales leadership and portfolio management
• Find cross-selling opportunities and guide branch teams on acquiring and keeping customers and increasing wallet share
• Oversee branch lending portfolios closely: manage delinquency early, keep non-performing advances down and support recovery
• Track Branch Managers and branch teams against KPIs and business objectives
• Coach and lead branch teams, building a culture of accountability, service quality and staff engagement

Requirements

• Full professional qualification in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL)
• A bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Business Management or a related field from a recognised university or professional institution is an added advantage
• Professional qualifications in Credit Management or related areas are viewed favourably
• At least 15 years in commercial banking, including a minimum of 8 years in branch management with proven leadership
• Working knowledge of retail banking, SME banking, credit evaluation and portfolio management
• A record of leading teams in a performance-driven setting while keeping a customer-focused, service-oriented approach
• Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and people leadership skills
• Business sense to grow profit and run operations well across several branches
