About the role

Nawaloka Hospitals PLC in Colombo is hiring a skilled, responsible IT Technician. The technician gives day-to-day technical support for computer systems, hardware, software, networks and IT equipment, helps users, troubleshoots problems, maintains IT infrastructure and keeps hospital IT services running.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for computers, printers, scanners and other IT equipment
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software
• Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP and basic network connectivity issues
• Support Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Assist users with system, application and access-related issues
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on IT equipment
• Maintain records of IT assets, repairs and technical support activities
• Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant IT team when required
• Follow IT security policies and keep hospital and patient information confidential

Required qualifications

• Diploma, Higher Diploma or professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Hardware, Networking or a related field
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems and software installation
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and basic network troubleshooting
• Ability to troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT equipment
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Basic understanding of IT security, antivirus, user accounts and access controls
• Strong problem-solving, communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to technical issues
• Previous experience in IT support, helpdesk or technical support is an advantage
• Experience in the healthcare industry is an added advantage
