The Ceylon Fisheries Corporation (CFC), trading under the CEYFISH brand, is a state-owned corporation operating under the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources. The corporation buys fish from local fishing communities, stores and processes it, and distributes it through its own sales outlets and to institutional buyers across Sri Lanka. Its head office is at Rock House Lane, Colombo 15, with regional operations around the island.

Role Overview

Senior Management (HM 1-1)

The two Deputy General Manager posts sit in the Higher Management grade and report to the corporation’s top management. The Deputy General Manager (Engineering) heads the engineering function, which at a fish marketing corporation typically covers cold rooms, ice plants, refrigerated transport and the maintenance of processing facilities. The Deputy General Manager (HRD & Administration) leads staff recruitment, training and development, and the corporation’s general administration.

Middle Management (MM 1-1)

Four middle-management posts are open, with nine vacancies in total:

  • Manager / Senior Manager (Human Resource Development) – manages training programmes, staff development and HR processes.
  • Manager / Senior Manager (Public & Private Establishments Supply) – manages the supply of fish to institutional buyers such as hospitals, the armed forces, hotels and private businesses.
  • Regional Manager / Senior Regional Manager (5 vacancies) – oversees fish purchasing, storage and sales operations at regional level.
  • Manager / Senior Manager (Procurement) – manages purchasing of goods and services in line with government procurement guidelines.

Junior Management (JM 1-1)

The Administrative Officer (Human Resources & Administration) supports the HR and administration division with personnel records, office administration and day-to-day staff matters.

Primary Level (PL 3)

Five Driver posts are available. Drivers at the corporation operate official and distribution vehicles, which can include refrigerated fish transport between purchasing centres, stores and sales outlets.
