About Wycherley International School – Dehiwala

Wycherley International School in Dehiwala works under the motto “Tradition – Education – Excellence”. It aims to combine academic excellence with traditional social values in a multicultural setting. The school has been educating students for 41 years and describes itself as the first and only comprehensive centre that follows the Cambridge curriculum from Play Group through to A/Levels.

The school is filling a number of academic, teaching and co-curricular posts. All candidates are expected to be highly proficient in English.

Academic Coordinator

• A degree or postgraduate diploma in a related field
• Prior experience handling and monitoring the Cambridge curriculum (mandatory)
• At least 2–3 years’ experience in teaching, academic coordination or a similar role

Key responsibilities: coordinate and monitor the school’s day-to-day academic activities; help teachers with curriculum and lesson planning and with delivery; track syllabus coverage, student progress and academic results; work with teachers and Heads of Department to keep academic standards high; and support teacher development, training and performance.

Assistant Teacher – Primary School

• A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in the relevant field
• Ability to teach Islam as a subject
• At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role

Class Teacher – Elementary School

• A diploma or degree in the relevant field
• At least 1 year’s experience

Assistant Teacher – Elementary School

• A diploma or degree in the relevant field
• Ability to teach Sinhala and/or Buddhism is an added advantage
• At least 1 year’s experience

Speech & Drama / Effective Speech Teacher – Elementary School

• A degree, diploma or other Speech & Drama qualification
• Previous experience in a similar role is an added advantage

Class Teacher / Assistant Teacher – Learning Resource Centre

• A degree or diploma in special needs education or Psychology
• Previous experience in a similar role is an added advantage
• Ability to teach Mathematics, English or Science

Mathematics Teacher – Learning Resource Centre

• A degree or diploma in the relevant field
• Previous experience in a similar role is an added advantage

Singing Teacher

• A degree or diploma in a related field
• Previous experience in a similar role is an added advantage

Coaches for Karate & Football

• Relevant qualifications and experience in a similar role
• Able to communicate in English
