Thakshana is hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer for its Hardware Engineering team. The work is PCB design for boards used in communication platforms: high-speed layout, power supplies, rigid-flex boards, design migration and maintenance, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Port, modify and maintain multi-layer PCB designs across EDA tools, including schematic and layout migration, component library synchronisation, and checking Gerber files and BOMs against production standards
• Design rigid and rigid-flex PCB interconnects between subsystem boards
• Add high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet PHY and USB PHY to schematics and layouts, and route high-speed signal paths between FPGA/SoC platforms (for example Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+), VITA 46 connectors and supporting ICs
• Make component-level design changes, keep block diagrams and documentation current, and release production files
• Design multi-layer high-speed adapter PCBs with connectors such as VITA 46, SFP, SMA and Ethernet, plus power distribution networks with switching supplies and noise filtering
• Create and maintain component libraries, block diagrams and technical documentation

Required skills and experience

• Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer
• Experience with high-speed design, signal integrity and multi-layer stack-ups (rigid and rigid-flex) is a plus
• Understanding of power distribution, including switching power supplies and noise filtering, is a plus
• Disciplined documentation habits: BOM management, Gerber verification, block diagrams and production file generation
