Role Overview
Commercial Bank is hiring a Junior Pawning Specialist on a Fixed Term Contract basis to review and assess pawning operations across branches, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Job Profile
- Review and assess pawning operations across branches to ensure adherence to internal guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Conduct inspections of pawned articles for authenticity, proper valuation, and compliance with established standards
- Support the Pawning Specialist in designing and delivering operational and technical training programs to branch staff
- Analyze branch-level performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability
- Collect and analyze market intelligence on pawning trends, customer behavior, and competitor offerings
- Assist in policy development, process improvements, and periodic reporting for management review
- Act as a liaison between the central team and branches to communicate best practices and operational changes
- Collaborate with branches to design and implement localized promotional campaigns and customer engagement initiatives
- Monitor the effectiveness of pawning promotions and suggest improvements to drive higher transaction volumes
- Participate in trade fairs, community events, or outreach programs to promote the bank’s pawning services
Applicant’s Profile
- Age limit: Below 50 years
- Successful completion of GCE O/L, Edexcel, or Cambridge O/L with a minimum of a ‘Credit’ pass for English and Mathematics
- Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level
- Full or part qualification in IABF – IBSL or an equivalent banking/finance certification (preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates with relevant experience)
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in branch operations, with at least 10 years in pawning or gold-related services
- Experience in training delivery, audits, or supervisory roles in banking will be a distinct advantage
- Exposure to valuation practices, regulatory compliance, or risk assessment is highly desirable
